My name is Filipe, I am 34 years old and I am Portuguese. I have been working with LC for almost 4 years now. I have a large experience with translation and transcription works, mainly working with medical studies and general web studies. Over the last 4 years, I have worked on over 1,000 files, transcribed over 500 hours and translated more than 300,000 words. As a Portuguese native, Portuguese is my main language, but I also have great command of English. Therefore, the language pair I work with is English-Portuguese. I am a very committed person and I always do my best to deliver timely and quality work. A positive feedback from the client makes my day.

My name is Asmaa Ali, and I come from a Palestinian background. I graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1999, with a degree in English Language and Literature. In 2001, I worked as a teacher of English, Geography, and Arabic at a private public school. The following year, I was offered a spot in a creative writing course offered by the Connecticut School of Writing for Children and Teenagers, which was based on a short story writing sample I provided. I began working as a free-lance translator at about the same time, through a local translation agency. 2012 marked the year that most of my dreams had come true, including the dream of being a writer of books. My 10 self-published e-books are becoming popular, having accrued over 75,000 reads to date. Between 2014-2017, I joined several translation companies through which I’ve done translating, interpreting, and conferencing jobs, as well as other high-end ones concerning criminal claims and lawsuits. My experience landed me with Lingual Consultancy Services, who trained me in subtitling and transcription, which I had not done before, but which I found completely enjoyable and easy to do. My language pair is Arabic-English/English-Arabic only. Getting better every day, and loving it!

I was born in Belgium to a Dutch mother and Belgian father. By the age of 15, I was essentially trilingual in Dutch, French and English. After high school I went to university to study to become an interpreter for Russian and English to Dutch. I studied one year in Russia where I became very fluent in the language. After university, I moved to Germany where I worked for an airline for 3 years. By the time I left Germany, I had picked up German and Italian. I moved to Switzerland to work for another company, where I learnt to speak Swiss German. In the same period I traveled with my backpack through South America, where I became fluent in Spanish. I met my Ukrainian wife in Greece and lived there for almost 4 years, so obviously I can speak some Greek too. We currently live in Belgium with our two kids whom we are raising bilingually, in Dutch and Russian. Technically, I have a degree for Russian and English only, but in practice I translate from 6 foreign language to Dutch and I am quite fluent in 2 additional languages.

Regarding my general experiences, for four years, I worked in the fields of Market Research (with Taylor Nelson Sofres Vietnam) and Marketing (with United International Pharma) where I learnt how to make differentiated branding strategy, and helped companies navigate the underlying yet untapped consumer needs relating to their categories. Now being a freelance translator, I have been taking on simultaneous Vietnamese-English (and vice versa) interpretation, translation, proofreading, subtitling, translation and transcription projects with local and international language agencies, as well as with private entities. Since June 2016, I've translated 200,000 words, subtitled/transcribed 1,000 minutes, edited 22,000 words, and interpreted 10 hours in the topics of Media, Marketing, Market Research, Entertainment, Healthcare, Legal, Contract, IT, Construction, etc. for approximately 15 global language agencies.

My name is Sameh Elnokaly an accomplished, experienced and recognized Arabic and English translator, and proofreader for almost 7 years in the translation business with numerous clients. I have also translated several materials for Viacom18 TV Network, Indian Railway, HDFC, Chhattisgarh State Government, EESL, INTAS, ALKEM Pharma, Ashok Leyland and many other renowned organizations, agencies, companies and brands. My general area of specialization lies in medical, scientific, research and IT materials and linguistic tests for android apps.
